Mayville State graduate (1996) Jason Wiberg has been named Division A State Athletic Administrator of the Year. He is athletic director at Devils Lake (N.D.) High School. The award is given by the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NDIAAA), and was presented at the NDIAAA Spring Conference Awards Banquet held recently in Fargo, N.D.
Wiberg was announced as the Region 2 Athletic Administrator of the Year at the end of the Region 2 girls basketball tournament in February. He is in his 29th year in education, and 24th as athletic director. He has been the athletic director for Devils Lake since 2010.
Another Mayville State graduate (1985), Jerome Slag, was named Division B District 6 Athletic Administrator of the Year. Slag is athletic director and physical education teacher at New Salem-Almont High School in New Salem, N.D. He has served as the school’s athletic director for more than two decades.
